What Billionaires Do On Their Summer Vacations

 Mark Zuckerberg

Pune, India

The world's youngest billionaire, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, opened the year with a week's stay in India. The 25-year-old was reportedly spotted in Pune visiting the Osho International Meditation Resort. He posted a picture to his Facebook page with caption: "I'll be attending a good friend's wedding and checking out a few cities while I'm here." His fans' response: 2,800 "like this."

 Bill Gates

Croatia

Microsoft maven Bill Gates took a family vacation to Skradin, Croatia, last year. The travel board of the small town, which boasts landmarks like a 13th century medieval fortress and the archaeological site of an ancient civilization, said the Gates family arrived via mega-yacht and visited Krka National Park and the Skradinski waterfall. They also strolled the streets of the small town, stopping at local restaurants for a bite.
 Steven Spielberg

Rural Ireland

Beloved director Steven Spielberg ditched Hollywood last year for a journey through Celtic regions with wife Kate Capshaw. The group tour led by poet David Wythe includes accommodations in cottages in the small village of Ballyvaughan, hiking trips through the rocky Burren region and visits with spiritual philosophers and musicians.
 Kelcy Warren

Colorado

Texas pipeline titan Kelcy Warren added a Colorado getaway to his portfolio of vacation spots in April, purchasing the Boot Jack Ranch, a 3,500-acre property, for $46.5 million. Several other billionaires frequent the state, including David and Charles Koch, who reportedly own homes in Aspen, and Roman Abramovich, who bought two homes in Snowmass Village for a combined $48 million in 2008.
Paul Tudor Jones II; Richard Branson; Tom Siebel

Africa

Africa is a top destination for wildlife-seekers. Hedge fund manager Paul Tudor Jones II owns an estate in Zimbabwe, where he hunts and fishes. Sir Richard Branson owns a private game reserve in South Africa. Tech titan Tom Siebel journeyed to the Serengeti in Tanzania for a safari last year, where he was attacked and mauled by an elephant.
 Roman Abramovich

Costa Rica

Outdoor-lovers and thrill-seekers are flocking to Costa Rica, where tourists can check out the exotic wildlife, take a zipline jungle tour and then relax on the gorgeous beaches. Chelsea soccer team owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly vacationed there, sometimes arriving in his mega yacht and, in one local report, traveling throughout the country with an entourage of Hummers.
 Richard Branson

Caribbean

Virgin chief Richard Branson added a new toy to his private Caribbean getaway, Necker Island. The Necker Nymph is the first three-person aero submarine. Visitors can ride along with a certified dive pilot for about an hour underwater. Cost to rent the Nymph for a week: $25,000.
Ron Perelman; Ron Baron; George Soros

The Hamptons

This New York hot spot is a posh getaway for numerous celebrities and billionaires, like financiers Ron Perelman, Ron Baron and George Soros. In what could be one of the steepest Hamptons deals of the year, hedge fun guru David Tepper is reportedly eyeing a beachfront mansion. Steven Spielberg has a home in East Hampton on 12 acres of land he calls Quelle Farm.
Michael Bloomberg

Bermuda

The Atlantic island is a second home to several billionaires, who reside near the private beaches off "millionaires' row" in Tucker's Town. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg owns a 6,000-square-foot home there. Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and Texas billionaire Ross Perot Sr. reportedly own homes in Tucker's Town too.
